CHANDIGARH, Nov 16- The Union Home Minister Mr Rajnath Singh today announced to open an Army Recruitment Sub Center in Rewari and permanently deploy Rapid Action Force (RAF) battalion in Mewat for ensuring communal harmony in the region.
Mr Rajnath Singh was addressing ‘Shaheed Samman Rally organized by Union Minister of State for Urban Housing, Planning and Poverty Alleviation Rao Inderjit Singh in Rewari today. Haryana Chief Minister Mr Manohar Lal was also present in the rally. All the speakers paid rich tributes to the martyrs right from the freedom struggle to present times, including Rao Raja Tula Ram and those 5000 martyrs who laid down their lives on November 16, 1857 at village Nasibpur, near Narnaul in district Mahendergarh.
Addressing a well attended rally, Union Home Minister Mr Rajnath Singh said that all the countrymen should contribute in make a strong, proud and independent India, be it the Hindus or the Muslims. He said that owing to the sacrifice of our martyrs, India got independence politically in 1947, but social and economic freedom still remained to be attained. The present BJP government is making all efforts to achieve both these freedoms for which the people will have to shun their differences on grounds of religion, caste, untouchability or region. Economic freedom can be achieved by providing employment opportunities to unemployed youth, for which the government has started a number of programs to make the youth employable .
He said that the gap of economic disparity should minimize, for which the government has demonetized Rs 500 and Rs 1000 notes. This could pose problem before the people for some time, may be for a month, but it will be helpful in bringing “Pavitrata” (purity)” in politics. Criticising the practice of distribution of money and liquor during elections, Mr Rajnath Singh said that this practice should be eliminated and if any political party collected donations, it should also be accounted for. He said “we are here to provide the type of governance, the people want. There will be no place for corruption. Government is working on it and this will have effect in the working of government machinery, they will also refrain from adopting corrupt practices”.
Taking back the audience to the last Lok Sabha polls, Mr Rajnath Singh said, “You had voted BJP to power not only to form a government but also to change the system. Our government has taken a number of steps in this direction. He said that real India lives in villages and the country could not develop till our farmers progress. The government has introduced Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojna so that the loss caused to farmers due to natural calamities can be reimbursed. He said that government is working with the aim to double the income of farmers by 2022. At the same time, he said that production of Urea and DAP fertilizers would be increased and the prices of these fertilizers could be lowered.
Union Home Minister also attacked Pakistan without naming it and said that the Heads of neighbouring countries were invited in the oath taking ceremony of Prime Minister Narender Modi only to give a message that we believe in not only shaking hands but also to the ‘meeting of hearts’ because Former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee used to say that friends may leave but neighbours remain, so we should have cordial relations with neighbourers. He said that despite our cordial gesture, our neighbour resorted to terrorism, which is a weapon of the cowards. He said that the government has taken steps to keep the pride of the countrymen in high esteem. The incidents of naxalism and terrorism have decreased drastically in the country in last two years, Mr Rajnath Singh asserted.
Earlier, the Haryana Chief Minister Mr Manohar Lal said that the wave in favour of BJP started from this very region during last Lok Sabha elections when Mr Narender Modi came here to address the Ex-servicemen rally, just two days before his nomination as Prime Ministerial candidate of the party and the people of south Haryana contributed a lot in formation of BJP government at the Center as well as in the state, for which the BJP feels indebted towards the people of this region. He said that “we haven’t forgotten that we would be able to repay some part of that debt, if we could bring SYL waters to this region.” He said that after the formation of BJP government, sincere efforts were made and good lawyers were engaged. In order to benefit the farmers of this region, lift irrigation system has been revived at a cost of Rs 143 crore. In addition, a separate Rs 2200 crore scheme has been prepared for taking Yamuna river water upto the tail end in south Haryana, the Chief Minister said and added that presently, out of our share of 22000 cusecs of Yamuna river water, we were not able to fetch more than 15000 cusecs.
Referring to Rao Inderjit Singh’s demand for construction of Byepass for Rewari city, the Chief Minister said that the government is committed for its construction but it could be expedited if Rao Inderjit Singh could help in getting loan from NCR Planning Board. The estimated cost of this Bye pass was said to be around Rs 800 crore.
The Chief Minister said that a medical college will be set up in each district of the state and he alongwith Union Minister Rao Inderjit Singh sought intervention of Union Home Minister also for opening of a branch of AIIMS in village Manethi in district Rewari. He said that he had written letters in this regard to the Central Government. At the same time, he suggested that if extension branch of Base Hospital in Delhi Cantonment can be opened in this region, possibilities would be discussed with the Union Defence Minister Mr Manohar Parikar.
He said that now the days of favourism or lopsided development in special areas have gone and equal development would be taken up in all assembly segments of the state. The Chief Minister assured that all the announcements made by him will be completed in next one year’s time and said that after development, the government would focus on providing employment to the youth. For this, Happening Haryana Global Investors Summit was organized in Gurugram, in which about 600 MoUs were signed with an estimated investment of about Rs 7 lakh crore. If even 80- 85 per cent of it is materialized, enough employment opportunities would be created. He said that a logistic hub would be set up over about 1000 acres of land in Nangal Chaudhary in district Mahendergarh along Delhi-Mumbai Freight Corridor, which will also give boost to employment.
Mr Manohar Lal mentioned about the schemes initiated for the welfare of the Ex-servicemen.
He also greeted the journalists on the National Press Day today.
Earlier, Union Minister Rao Inderjit Singh made an emotional speech starting right from the first war of independence. He narrated the contribution of the soldiers of this Ahirwal region and said that the region has given maximum martyrs. The first recipient of Paramveer Chakra Somnath Sharma and Victoria Cross decorated Umrao Singh also belonged to this region. He also mentioned the rumours that Rao Inderjeet Singh and workers in Haryana Insaaf Manch were having a time pass in BJP but he clarified that he is in BJP for a lifetime, not just time pass.
BJP Haryana Incharge Dr Anil Jain also addressed the gathering.
