  • State Government would give financial assistance of Rs 50,000 each to those first 50 persons who would go on a pilgrimage to Kailash Mansarovar Yatra: CM 6-06-2016

    • Chandigarh June 6: Haryana Chief Minister Mr Manohar Lal today announced that the State Government would give financial assistance of Rs 50,000 each to those first 50 persons who would go on a pilgrimage to Kailash Mansarovar Yatra’. This assistance will be admissible to those who would follow the norms prescribed by the Government for the pilgrimage. This assistance would help them in meeting their travel expenses.
    • Mr Manohar Lal was speaking at a function organized by Shree Kailash Mansarovar Seva Samiti at Shri Mata Mansa Devi Shrine Complex at Panchkula near here today.
    • The Chief Minister said that the State Government is already providing financial assistance of Rs 10,000 each to 50 pilgrims for the ‘Sindhu Darshan Yatra’ which is also organized in the month of June. He urged the people to take maximum benefit of the facility being provided by the State Government.
    • While extending his best wishes to the pilgrims for the Kailash Mansarovar Yatra-2016, he said that such pilgrimages always inspire the people. These may be difficult to accomplish, but pilgrims have to work hard to complete their journey, said Mr Manohar Lal adding that the pilgrimages enable the pilgrims to not only gain virtues, but also help them in improving their overall personality. He said that this Yatra assumes special significance for the Hindus and the Jains, Tibetans and the Buddhists. He said that Kailash Mansarovar is a remote hilly place with very low temperature. Apart from this, this sacred place is also known as the origin of many rivers.
    • The Chief Minister honoured 17 pilgrims who are going for Kailash Mansarovar Yatra-2016 and he also flagged off first batch of pilgrims for the Yatra. In all, 59 pilgrims would perform Kailash Mansarovar Yatra in different batches.
    • Earlier, while speaking on this occasion, Chairman, Kailash Mansarovar Seva Samiti Mr H. C. Gupta thanked the Chief Minister for announcing financial assistance for the pilgrims of Kailash Mansarovar Yatra and said that Mr Manohar Lal has proved that he is true to his words. He said that by accepting the request of the Samiti to flag off the first batch of Yatra, the Chief Minister has boosted the morale of the devotees of Lord Shiva.
    • Others present on the occasion included MLA Kalka Mrs Latika Sharma, Deputy Commissioner, Panchkula, Mrs Garima Mittal, Sub Divisional Magistrate, Mrs Hema Sharma, Chief Executive Officer, Mata Mansa Devi Shrine Board, Panchkula Mr V.G Goyal and a large number of devotees.
