  • To promote horticulture in the state Haryana Government would setup Centres-of-Excellence would be set up in all districts with the cooperation of Israel: CM 15-06-2016

    • Chandigarh, June 15 – With a view to promote horticulture in the state Haryana Government would setup Centres-of-Excellence would be set up in all districts with the cooperation of Israel. Each such centre would cost Rs. 10 crore.
    • This was stated by Haryana Chief Minister, Mr. Manohar Lal after interacting with ambassador of Israel Daniel Carmon who had called on him in New Delhi.
    • The Chief Minister said that the land to setup such centres would be identified by November 1 next and the centre would be developed in next two years. At present such centres of excellence are functional at Magiana in district Sirsa, Ghauranda in district Karnal, Ladwa in district Kurukshetra. He said that the land to set up such centres has already been identified at Hodal in district Palwal, Bhuna in district Fatehabad, Barwala  in district Hisar, Sundra in district in Mahendergarh, Murthal in district Sonipat. The work to set up of such centre at village Sondhi in district Jhajjar is in the last phase of completion.
    • He said that sewerage water would be treated and used at centre for the purpose. He said that a team of experts from Israel would soon visit the state.
    • Mr. Daniel said that Haryana has ample potential in the areas of agriculture, horticulture and animal husbandry.
