  • From November 1, 2016, bank accounts of every individual in the State would be opened under ‘Pradhan Mantri Jan-Dhan Yojana’: CM 19-06-2016

    • Chandigarh, June 19 – Haryana Chief Minister, Mr. Manohar Lal, said that in the Golden Jubilee year of the inception of the State, starting from November 1, 2016, bank accounts of every individual in the State would be opened under ‘Pradhan Mantri Jan-Dhan Yojana’. Apart from this, provision of water would be the special focus of the Government in the Golden Jubilee year. 
    • The Chief Minister was speaking on the concluding day of the two-day ‘Pradesh Karyakarini Meeting’ of Bharatiya Janata Party at Gurgaon today.
    • He said that the right people had to be identified and people who indulged in wrong activities had to be stopped. Those persons who were indulging in such activities had to pay the penalty for their actions. He said that the Government’s work was not merely to carry out development work, but also to improve the social system.
    • He said that the State Government had executed a large number of new development projects during the last 18 months. He said that under ‘Sabka Saath-Sabka Vikas’, people of the State would also be urged to assist the Government where necessary. Many new softwares have been launched to improve the system, and the works carried out by the Central and State Governments through these softwares would be made accessible to party workers who would take these to the people.
    •         He said that there was a need for water management in the State, particularly southern Haryana, as water was available in the Yamuna river for only four months. He said that three dams would be constructed on the river at Kishau, Renuka and Lakhwar, after which water from the river would be available for eight months for drinking and irrigation purposes.
