    • Chandigarh, July 22- Haryana Chief Minister Mr Manohar Lal today emphasized  the significance of the State’s Academies  and said that these should also contribute in extensive research activities of research chairs already set up in various universities in the state.
    • The Chief Minister was presiding over a meeting to review the functioning of various  Academies of the State here today.These Academies are  Haryana Sahitya Academy , Haryana Granth Academy, Haryana Punjabi Sahitya Academy, Haryana Sanskrit Academy and Haryana Urdu Academy.
    • He also exhorted the functionaries of the Academies to make  concerted efforts  to further promote literature and facilitate the litterateurs. He said that State Government was committed to promote literature, language and other literary activities. The work to be undertaken by all academies should be visible in such a manner that everyone   realizes that Haryana, which is known for its bravery soldiers , is also a front runner in promotion of literature and  allied activities. He asked them to work for preparation and compilation of good literature.
    • Deputy Chairman and Directors of academies explained about their future road map and presented a brief presentation of the new initiatives to be taken by them to preserve the State’s heritage and promote and preserve literature  and languages.
    • Education Minister Mr Ram Bilas Sharma, Additional Chief Secretary Information and Public Relations Mrs Dheera Khandelwal, Director, Information and Public Relations and Languages Department Mr Sameer Pal Srow, Additional Director, Information and Public Relations and Languages Department, Mr S. Singh, Deputy Chairman and Directors of all Academies were also present in the meeting.
