Chandigarh, August 9 – Haryana Chief Minister Mr Manohar Lal today directed the officers of Public Works (Building and Roads) Department to coordinate with the National Highway Authority of India to get the pace of ongoing works on National Highways accelerated in the State.
The Chief Minister, who was presiding over a meeting to review the progress of works of National Highways here today, exhorted the officers to put in sincere efforts to get these works completed on time. Public Works (Building and Roads) Minister Rao Narbir Singh was also present in the meeting.
The Chief Minister said that the present government is very keen to further strengthen the infrastructure and connectivity in the state and it has taken many initiatives in this direction.
He also directed them to examine and revise room rates in all Guest Houses of the Department keeping in view the expenditure being incurred on day-to-day maintenance.
It was informed in the meeting that there were many National Highways passing through Haryana as the government had got declared a number of State Highways as National Highways. The widening works of National Highways passing through the state is in progress. It was informed that work was in progress at NH-1 from Delhi to Ambala, NH-2 from Delhi to Faridabad-Hodal, NH-8 from Ambience Mall, Gurgaon to Kheri, NH-65 from Ambala to Hisar-Rajgarh, NH-10 from Bahadurgarh to Dabwali, NH-73 from Yamunanagar to Panchkula and NH-71 from Narwana-Jind to Rewari.
Others present in the meeting included Principal Secretary to Chief Minister Mr Rajesh Khullar, Additional Chief Secretary Public Works (Building and Roads) Mr Hardeep Kumar and Engineer-in-Chief Public Works (Building and Roads).
